Techint set up a new office in India at the end of 2009 to perform detail engineering, including 3D modeling engineering services for power plants, refineries and O&G projects. Currently about 180 people are employed at the Mumbai office covering HSE-engineering, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, civil and project engineering. The engineering center in India has been involved in the Menthanol Plant for E-Metanex in Egypt, LyondellBasel’s Isobutene Isomerization Debottleneck project, the Dunkerque LNG, the KJO Onshore oil treatment plant for the Hout offshore field, Yanbu and Ruwais solid handling terminals, Mokovche nuclear power plant for Enel in the Czech Republic Czechoslovakia, Ain Sokhna, as well as other projects in the E&C sector such as FEED for SQM In Chile, the Pesquería power plant and the BayCity steel pipes rolling mill in USA.
