In the year 1960, Sri. Vallurupalli Nageswara Rao, founded 'Southern Engineering Works' (SEW) in Vijaywada, A.P. India, to pursue civil engineering construction activities. Subsequently late Sri Y. Purnachandra Rao and Sri Y.M.G. Nageswara Rao joined the company and contributed to the growth of the organization. The first project SEW worked on, was the prestigious Nagarjuna Sagar Dam in Andhra Pradesh
